I speak about the travels we take of both the real and metaphysical kind. I have been speaking at keynote events, participating in panels, and leading workshops since the 1990s. My talks about my 14,000-mile road trip in my classic 1970 Porsche 911T cover a range of experiences and lessons learned while behind the wheel. I have a TED talk “Want Global Change? Get Local!” that grew out of my seminal MIT white paper on public space and community.

TEDx: "Want Global Change? Get Local!"

Global change doesn’t exist. All change is local. We begin the process of profound change in our backyard by engaging in local actions and collaborations that teach us how politics, social interaction, civic collaboration and negotiation shape our world. Susan Silberberg offers three cases in everyday places that illustrate how placemaking creates and sustains healthy, vibrant, civil society and shows you how to get started today.  It all starts with the local!
